Being A Fashion Major, is this weird???

Posted by: admin  :  Category: fashion merchandising major

I am a fashion Merchandising Major, and i don't own any top named brand clothing. I dress really cute and fashionable but I have never owned Abercrombie, Aeropostale, D&G,Hollister or American Eagle.

Is this odd coming form a major as mine?? (I buy whats AFFORDABLE but still)

I do wear Duck Head,Polo/Ralph Lauren, Levi, Guess,Zana Di, and I shop at Claires.

I don't think it's weird at all. There is no rule that says to be a fashion major of any kind you have to wear these name brands of clothing. It's not that those Named brands you listed are top name brands, just the most notable in that age demographic. After you graduate you are going to be in a whole new fish pond and trust me, its better to have a great creative, edgy fashion then a cookie cutter (no offense to those that wear them) If I wanted fashion advice on how to look like a teenager, I'd consult one that wore that type. If I wanted true advice, I'd ask someone that could blend together a great mix of classic, creative, vintage. Shows that they pay attention to whats in the fashion world, not the fashion mall. Look at an issue of Vogue or Elle or Harper's Bazaar. Are they featuring the new great looks from A&F, Aero, A&E, or Hollister…um no. Stay original, I think for one it will help you in the long run! Good luck on your degree!
